6/22/2022 0 Comments Treating Gracie’s Myelopathy with Hydrotherapy, Red Light Therapy and Young Living® Essential Oil BlendsGracie is a 6-year-old yellow lab that has been diagnosed with myelopathy, a nervous system disorder that affects the spinal cord. Her condition occurred as a result of an injury causing the extrusion of a spinal disk while playing with her sibling. Gracie’s fur parents are seeking out noninvasive, holistic treatments. Beach Dog Aqua Therapy is providing Gracie with both hydrotherapy and red light therapy services, as well as unique blends of Young Living® essential oils tailored to Gracie’s condition. These blends are applied post-swim and just before her red light therapy sessions. Her fur parents also have the essential oils blends for at-home treatments. These therapeutic services and products will help her Gracie improve her overall mobility and muscle strength over repeat sessions.

Red light therapy, or near-infrared light therapy, is the use of medium-level wavelengths that affect molecular, cellular and tissue mechanisms and promote health and wellness in many areas of the body. Beach Dog Aqua Therapy concentrates on five tissue mechanisms with red light therapy (RLT) in canines: muscles, bones and joints, skin, nerves and brain.
Beach Dog Aqua Therapy recommends a series of red light therapy treatments to give your dog the most long-term benefits. We work with each parent to determine the number of treatments from which your pup will benefit most. We often combine RLT treatments with aqua therapy and applications of our custom blends of Young Living® essential oils to provide the greatest well-being for your dog. Keep in mind that, while the dogs’ eyes are not sensitive to the red light, humans need to wear protective glasses during the treatment. RLT is also not harmful to the skin or expose your dog to harmful UV rays. If you think that your pup can benefit from RLT, consider combining an aqua therapy swim session with it on your next visit. Beach Dog Aqua Therapy offers package discounts when multiple services are combined. Contact us or explore our website learn more about the benefits of each service and bundled pricing. |
